Aretha Armstrong is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with Olive Branch. After receiving her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Trinity International University, Aretha went on to earn her Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Trinity Christian College.
Aretha specializes in grief and loss – she believes helping her clients deal with grief and loss in their own timing and in a healthy manner is of utmost importance in the healing process. Being a director of Healing Hearts Grief and Loss Support Group at her church for many years as well as experiencing and surmounting losses in her own life, Aretha has developed and perfected the tools needed to help others overcoming their own losses. To live a healthy, meaningful and hope-filled life is Aretha’s ultimate goal for her clients.
Aretha also has experience conducting counseling with; individuals, adults, couples, families, children, and adolescents in the areas of depression, anxiety, health issues, women issues, anger, and stress management. She understands that every client is unique and for that reason uses a variety of techniques that includes, but is not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Reality-based therapy. Aretha enjoys seeing clients make progress and has high reverence for clients who are willing to do the work for change in their lives.
In her spare time, Aretha enjoys volunteering at church, taking yoga classes, and socializing with family and friends.
